Da Nang’s tourism sector is dynamically enhancing its offerings by incorporating new tourism products and organizing events and festivals to enrich the visitor experience. The city attaches great importance to promotional efforts in established key markets and seeks to explore new markets to expand its visitor base.
Promotional activities provide great opportunities for both local and international tourism entities to build future collaborations. During a recent familiarization event (Family Trip) held in Da Nang, participants from Da Nang and Indonesia shared their insights, which were facilitated by the side activities of the event. According to industry experts, such promotions are essential not only to showcase the city’s tourism offerings but also to enable relevant businesses to network and identify potential international partners.
Since the beginning of the year, the Da Nang Tourism Department has organized many family trip invitations, enabling overseas travel service providers to explore the city first-hand. A highlight was the visit of a 35-member delegation of Indonesian travel companies who evaluated Da Nang’s tourism infrastructure, as told by Mr. Nguyen Minh Xuang, Director of Hai Van Cat International Travel. Xuang highlighted Indonesia’s potential as an important market due to its large population and strategic importance in Southeast Asia.
Da Nang has introduced specific amenities to cater to Muslim travelers, including prayer rooms at various locations such as Da Nang International Airport, which have been operational since early 2023. Establishments across the city have become more inclusive, offering Muslim-friendly services to better accommodate these visitors.
Mr. Joseph, Regional Sales Manager Asia, Citilink Airlines, commented on the growing appeal of Da Nang and Central Vietnam to the Indonesian market. Citilink Airlines is discussing the possibility of starting flights from Jakarta to Da Nang, planning to start with twice weekly flights by the end of 2024 and hopes to increase the frequency based on customer demand.
To enhance its international appeal, the Da Nang Tourism Department recently teamed up with neighboring provinces to host a promotional event in Taipei titled “Heritage of Central Vietnam.” The event, attended by more than 120 stakeholders including representatives from airlines and travel agencies, focused on tourism products tailored to Taiwanese preferences for leisure and cultural travel.
Promotional campaigns are planned in Seoul and Busan to rekindle interest among South Korean tourists. A new campaign titled “Enjoy Da Nang Again” is designed to provide memorable experiences for repeat visitors from South Korea, offering exclusive discounts and unique souvenirs that highlight local icons and attractions.
This proactive approach to promotion and market expansion positions Da Nang as an ever-increasingly attractive destination for international tourists, who are eager to experience its unique offerings and hospitality.
