Air travel between Libya and Italy The head of the Tripoli-based, U.N.-backed government said on Sunday that talks would resume in September after a nearly decade-long suspension following a European Union embargo.

Interim Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said on social media that the Italian government informed us of its decision to lift the air embargo imposed on Libyan civil aviation for 10 years.

Flights between the two countries stopped in 2014 after the European Union blacklisted Libyan airlines and banned them from flying over European airspace.
