Air Nostrum, the prestigious regional airline based in Valencia, has expanded its air network by introducing a weekly flight connecting Lanzarote (ACE) and Zaragoza (ZAZ), starting from August 6. As a cooperation partner of the Oneworld airline alliance, Air Nostrum currently operates a strong schedule of 91 routes covering domestic and international destinations, as well as charter services.
Lanzarote Airport is the third busiest airport in the Canary Islands, after Gran Canaria and Tenerife South. Located near Arrecife, the island’s capital, it opened in 1946. Initially focused on charter flights from Europe, it has since grown to become one of the ten busiest airports in Spain. By 2018, it facilitated the travel of over 7.5 million passengers and handled over 1,600 tonnes of cargo.
Exploring Lanzarote by rental car is recommended due to its easy accessibility, providing unrestricted access to the island’s diverse attractions. The ideal arrangement for visitors is to pick up a rental car directly from the airport upon arrival, ensuring a smooth transfer to their accommodation.
In contrast, Zaragoza Airport, located ten kilometres southwest of Zaragoza city centre in the Garabinelos neighbourhood, serves as a gateway to the rich cultural landscape of the Aragon region. Zaragoza, the fifth largest city in Spain, is steeped in history as the former seat of the Kingdom of Aragon. The city lies on the Ebro River and its tributaries, Huerva and Gallego, and is surrounded by a wide valley characterised by a dynamic mix of desert, forest, meadows and mountainous areas, making it an important urban centre in northern Spain.
