Discover culinary excellence at the 24th World Gourmet Festival in Bangkok, featuring 30 Michelin stars, from September 4 to 10, 2024.
Top culinary experts and mixologists gather at Anantara Siam Bangkok to showcase the latest trends in fine dining and cocktail making.
In September, foodies can look forward to the annual World Gourmet Festival, now in its 24th year. The event will be held at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel from September 4 to 10, 2024. A highlight of Bangkok’s culinary scene, this edition will feature an impressive line-up of 16 world-renowned chefs, who collectively hold 30 Michelin stars, and renowned bartenders from the world’s best bars.
The festival will kick off with a lavish gala dinner featuring a six-course menu, each dish prepared by a different chef from the festival menu. Representing a wide range of culinary traditions from across Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond, these chefs will each lead a unique dining experience at one of Anantara Siam’s signature restaurants. This year’s line-up includes Michelin-starred chefs such as:
- Thomas Bohner (La Vie by Thomas Bühner, Taipei) Known for its avant-garde approach to contemporary dining.
- Eric Ratty (Arbor, Hong Kong) brings a touch of Scandinavian precision to its globally inspired dishes.
- Matteo Ferrantino (Bianca, Germany), which blends traditional Italian flavours with contemporary cooking techniques.
- Kazuyuki Tanaka (Racine, France), known for its fusion of Japanese sensibilities and French gastronomy.
- Sang Hoon Degembre (L’Air du Temps, Belgium), a champion of innovative Belgian cuisine with a touch of Asian influence.
- Louis Philippe (France), whose dishes blend classic French techniques with global inspiration.
- Henrique Sa Pessoa (Alma, Lisbon), which modernizes traditional Portuguese dishes.
- Jimmy Lim (JL Studio, Taiwan), known for its boundary-pushing approach to Asian cuisine.
- Rishi Nalendra (Cloud Street, Singapore), which creatively combines global and local elements.
- Stefan Stiller (Taian Table, Shanghai), blends European culinary traditions with Asian nuances.
- Vicki Jeunesse (Zelte, Antwerp), known for its innovative dishes with attention to detail.
- Mark Donald (Glenturret Restaurant, Scotland), which creates bold and innovative Scottish dishes.
- Guillaume Lobvet (Valrhona – South Pacific), Professor of Pastry Arts.
- And I am Tan (Malaysia), the world champion in confectionery, will offer exclusive afternoon tea experiences.
In addition to the gastronomic excellence, guest bartenders from some of the top 50 bars in Asia and the world will be animating Aqua Bar every night during the festival, including renowned mixologists such as Colin Chia of Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore; John Lee of Penrose, Kuala Lumpur; and others from around the world.
Part of the proceeds from the festival, including auctions, will go to support the Rajavithi Girls’ Home Welfare Foundation, under the patronage of HRH Princess Soamsawali. This charity provides basic education, medical and life skills training to underprivileged girls in Thailand.
In addition, the festival will extend to other unique locations later in the month. On September 27 and 28, sister resort Anantara Siam in Chiang Mai and the Loi Bella Voyages Dinner Cruise in Bangkok will feature exclusive dinners by Chef Enrico Marmo (Balzi Rossi, Italy) and Chef Luis Angos (Portugal), offering their distinct take on Italian and Portuguese cuisine respectively.
