In July 2024, SANY Renewable Energy, a leading clean energy technology manufacturer, joined the China Environment, Society and Governance Alliance, underlining its commitment to sustainable development and the wind power industry. By becoming a member, SANY aims to cooperate in sharing best practices and promoting low-carbon innovations, thus accelerating the green transformation within the supply chain.
Launched on April 13, 2023 in Suzhou by leading companies and organizations, the China ESG Alliance aims to leverage specialized knowledge and resources to create impactful climate technology solutions on a global scale. Prestigious members include Microsoft, Lenovo, and Tencent, along with prominent entities such as Honor, Luxshare, LONGi Green Energy Technology, LinkedIn, Sunwoda Electronic, Danfoss, SF Express, CDP, and the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange.
By the end of 2023, SANY wind turbines will have generated 84.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 48 million tons. Through its partnership with the China Environment, Society and Governance Alliance, SANY aims to strengthen its international cooperation, focusing on the research and implementation of green and low-carbon initiatives.
SANY Renewable Energy is committed to sustainability throughout the life cycle of its products, using the latest technologies and management practices to reduce environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency. The company also adopts comprehensive low-carbon strategies, and conducts carbon inventories and environmental footprint assessments to identify and achieve emission reduction targets.
Among the model projects is the Shenxianling Wind Farm, where Sany has integrated development, environmental protection and community participation. The project has achieved high levels of land reclamation and vegetation restoration, enhanced environmental goals and stimulated local tourism and industrial growth, making it China’s first smart, green wind farm.
In addition, SANY promotes sustainability across its supply chain, with 92% of its suppliers adhering to the Supplier Code of Conduct. The company supports these partners through self-sustainability assessments and ESG training programs to enhance their green capabilities.
