IndiGo is partnering with RECARO to upgrade the Business Class cabins of its A321neo aircraft with advanced R5 seats, offering superior comfort and functionality, starting Q4 2024.
IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced its partnership with Recaro aircraft seating to outfit the business class cabins of its upcoming A321neo aircraft with its popular R5 seats. Designed to offer superior comfort and enhanced functionality, these Recaro R5 seats feature a 38-inch pitch, a customised, ergonomic and lightweight design. Additionally, the aircraft will feature Recaro R2 seats in the economy section. IndiGo has ordered a total of 45 cargo sets to facilitate this upgrade, with each A321neo aircraft set to feature 12 seats in business class and 208 in economy class. Deliveries are expected to commence in Q4 2024, with all business class seats expected to be installed by the end of 2025.

R5 seats feature specially designed diamond-patterned quilted covers and advanced comfort cushions. These seats feature a unique backrest with privacy wings and a large center console that provides space for storing small items, enhancing the comfort of Business Class passengers on short to medium-haul flights. Additionally, each seat is equipped with PC power and USB-C charging ports, as well as a tablet holder to enrich the in-flight entertainment experience.
