Europe remains the top tourist destination, accounting for 65% of all Schengen visa applications processed. New data from Visa Services, a Dubai-based visa services provider, reveals a 20% year-on-year increase in Schengen visa applications from UAE residents during the second quarter of 2024.
Europe continues to dominate travel choices for UAE residents, with 65% of the requests processed by the company being destined for this region.
The United States comes next, accounting for 25%, while Asia-Pacific countries account for 15%.

This increase in demand is in line with the peak travel season and major events such as Euro 2024, the Paris Olympics, and Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour. Popular European destinations include Spain, Greece, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, and Switzerland.
The company’s data shows that the majority of applicants were Russians (35%), followed by Indians (23%), Filipinos (16%), Egyptians (7%), Jordanians (6%), and South Africans. Families made up 58% of clients.
In 2023, the Schengen visa rejection rate for UAE residents was 22.44%, with an approval rate of 77.56%. The majority of visas issued were for single entry (74%), while 21% were for multiple entry valid for 3 to 6 months.
