Tourism in Karnataka The successful participation at IITM Chennai has created enthusiasm for medical tourism, showcasing the state’s top-notch healthcare services.
Karnataka Tourism celebrated a successful participation in India International Travel Market (IITM) in ChennaiThe event was an excellent opportunity to showcase the state’s diverse tourist attractions to a wide audience of travel industry professionals, generating great interest and enthusiasm.
The exhibition was attended by over 200 exhibitors, including travel agents, tour operators, hotels and national tourism offices, representing over eight international destinations and 20 Indian states. Karnataka, known for its rich history, culture and natural beauty, highlighted its popular destinations, such as UNESCO World Heritage Sites Hampi, Pattadakal, and the sacred groups of the Hoysala.
The state also showcased its pristine beaches like Gokarna and Devbagh, lush hill stations including Coorg, Chikmagalur, Kodaikanal, Nandi Hills and Munnar, as well as vibrant wildlife sanctuaries like Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, besides national parks at Bandipur and Bannerghatta.
The Karnataka Tourism delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with travel agents, tour operators and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration. The event witnessed strong interest in Karnataka’s unique blend of heritage, adventure and wellness tourism. Attendees were visibly impressed by the state’s dedication to sustainable tourism and efforts to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Several B2B meetings were held to discuss potential partnerships and collaborations.
In a remarkable achievement, the Karnataka Tourism Wing was awarded the “Medical tourism destination of the yearAn award in recognition of the state’s excellence in providing high-quality healthcare services to tourists.
Participation in IITM Chennai has laid a strong foundation for boosting tourism to Karnataka from South India. The department expects a significant increase in visitor arrivals in the coming months. The Karnataka Tourism Department remains committed to strengthening its presence in the market through strategic partnerships and promotional activities.
