Princess Cruises is set to have a record season in Alaska in 2026, with berths on eight ships, including the new Star Princess, increasing by 18% compared to 2025.
Princess Cruises is set to make history with its ship Alaska’s Biggest Season Ever in 2026led by the introduction of the new star princess.
According to the Global Cruise Ship Index from Cruise Industry News, this expansion will see an 18% increase in berths compared to 2025.
In 2026, Princess Cruises will operate eight ships in Alaska, including the newly launched Star Princess (2025) and Discovery Princess (2022). These ships will be joined by Royal Princess, Emerald Princess, Ruby Princess, Island Princess, Coral Princess and Caribbean Princess, representing a diverse fleet of classes.
Operating out of six major ports, this massive fleet is set to provide more than 24,600 berths in the Alaska region by 2026, based on data from Cruise Industry News.
In contrast, the 2025 Alaska season will feature seven Princess ships: Discovery Princess, Royal Princess, Ruby Princess, Caribbean Princess, Sapphire Princess, Coral Princess and Grand Princess, which together provide nearly 20,600 berths.
Interestingly, the number of berths for 2025 is lower than for 2024, despite the same number of ships. The 2024 summer season also features seven Princess ships but with a larger average fleet size, resulting in more berths.
Between 2024 and 2026, Princess Cruises will expand its Alaska offerings by about 10 percent, adding about 2,000 berths.
