Indian citizens are finding themselves in limbo after the Ministry of External Affairs issued a security alert, warning against travel to Dhaka, Bangladesh due to concerns over the current security situation. In contrast, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has yet to provide guidance to airlines on offering refunds to passengers who no longer wish to travel following the MEA advisory.
This warning has caused major disruption to passengers, especially those who had booked their flights to Dhaka in advance. These passengers are now unable to proceed with their plans, causing great inconvenience. Many passengers have expressed their frustration, stating that many airlines do not seem to be aware of the warning and are therefore refusing to issue refunds. This situation has left passengers stuck between the warning and the airlines’ stance on cancelling tickets.
