Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the launch of direct flights to Moscow, the capital of Russia, starting from 28 October 2014. The airline will offer four weekly flights to Domodedovo International Airport, located 42 kilometres (26 miles) southeast of central Moscow and known to be the city’s busiest airport in terms of passenger and cargo traffic.
The launch of this new route follows Gulf Air’s recent expansion to several destinations, including Sialkot in Pakistan, Tehran in Iran and Athens in Greece, earlier this year. Moscow, one of the world’s fast-emerging tourism hubs, is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, including iconic landmarks such as Red Square and the Kremlin. As a major political, cultural, economic and scientific centre of Russia and the region, Moscow attracts around three million tourists annually.
Gulf Air will operate the Moscow flights using an A320-ER aircraft equipped with 14 Falcon Gold seats and 96 Economy Class seats.
