Enjoy Catrina Festival at Four Seasons Hotel Punta Mita, celebrating Day of the Dead with delicious food, cocktails, music and cultural events from November 1-3, 2024.
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, a luxury beachfront resort located along Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit, is hosting its annual Catrina Festival to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Taking place from November 1-3, 2024, the three-day event will feature exquisite culinary experiences and cocktail sessions. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with renowned chefs and mixologists from across the country who will showcase fresh local flavors. The festival will also feature a lineup of music, workshops and performances that celebrate this cherished cultural holiday.

Experience the pleasure
Led by Executive Chef Jorge Gonzalez at Dos Catrinas, and featuring renowned visiting chefs, the culinary festivities will immerse guests in a sensory celebration of Mexican cuisine. The menu will feature multi-course meals, celebratory cocktail gatherings, and interactive cooking demonstrations. Notable participants include Chef Richard Sandoval, James Beard semi-finalist Chef Carlos Galán of Michelin-starred Josina Oaxaca in Mexico City, and Chef José Miguel Garcia of Espantapajeros and La Barraca.
The resort’s restaurants will also offer special menus, and the Katrina Festival schedule includes the following events:
Tertulia Night (6:00 PM, Friday, November 1 | Dos Catrina)
The festivities begin with a dinner featuring a variety of culinary stations prepared by guest chefs in collaboration with the Four Seasons team. The evening is enriched by live local music, professional makeup artists performing traditional Mexican face painting, and stilt walking demonstrations. Reservations are available on OpenTable, with prices set at MXN 2,500 per adult and MXN 1,250 per child.
Barbacoa show (6:30 p.m., Saturday, November 2 | Cuevas Beach)
Chefs will demonstrate the traditional local method of slow cooking meat in a pit oven, using cactus leaves as a marinade. This demonstration is complimentary to all resort guests, with the finished dish served as a main course at Dos Catrinas.
Day of the Dead Dinner (7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2 | Dos Catrina)
Enjoy a multi-course meal where each guest chef presents a signature dish, accompanied by local musical performances. Reservations are available on OpenTable, with prices starting at MXN 1,995 per adult and MXN 998 per child.
Grab the Clase Azul Mez bar (10:00pm – 1:00am, Saturday, November 2 | Bar Mezze)
After dinner, MEZ Bar will see a takeover by Clase Azul, offering unique cocktails and a selection of over 70 mezcals, against a backdrop of lively music and Day of the Dead-inspired décor.
La Vida Brunch (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 3 | Dos Catrinas)
The final event is a lavish brunch featuring traditional dishes like barbacoa and chilquil, along with a raw bar, omelets and made-to-order pancakes. A special Bloody Catrinas drink will also be available. Tickets can be booked on OpenTable, priced at MXN 1,495 per adult and MXN 750 per child.
Cooking lessons
These weekend-long hands-on classes give guests the opportunity to learn directly from the chefs about traditional Mexican cuisine.

The resort’s Kids Club organized various activities to engage young guests in Day of the Dead traditions, including:

Cultural workshops
In addition to the culinary events, the resort’s Cultural Center will host workshops on traditional Mexican crafts, Catrina headdress and makeup, sugar skull decoration, and more, led by the resort’s Cultural Concierge.
