Within the framework of the “Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia” and to promote the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, a “promotional tour” was held in Vladivostok. The aim of this event was to increase the flow of tourists from Russia to Uzbekistan.
The event was organized by the Tourism Committee with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan. A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Jamshid Abdusalamov, Participate in the roadshow.
“This year our committee has set a goal to increase the number of Russian tourists to 1 million. To achieve this, the necessary infrastructure and various air routes are being created. Currently, there are about 300 flights per week between cities in Russia. There is mutual interest between the citizens of the two countries, and I believe that with the support of the leadership of the Primorsky Territory, we will provide all necessary assistance to tourism companies and companies working in this direction to facilitate agreements, develop cooperation and move forward,” Jamshid Abdusalamov said.
The event featured presentations highlighting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, recent reforms in the tourism sector and new tourist destinations. B2B and B2G meetings were also organized for representatives of the tourism sectors of Uzbekistan and Russia to exchange experiences and establish new business contacts, resulting in several bilateral agreements.
Participants also enjoyed a presentation on Uzbek food tourism, which included tastings of traditional Uzbek cuisine and a concert programme featuring a national orchestra.
