Founded by American TV stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006, The Row plans to open its first flagship store in Paris, just steps from the chic Rue Saint-Honoré. The store will be located at the intersection of Rue d’Alger (number 5) and Rue Mont-Tabor (number 1), in the 1st arrondissement, according to The Row France’s statutes.
The New York brand has already established a foothold in the capital, not through its store but through its French headquarters, located in a private mansion on the rue Capucines (1st arrondissement), where it presented its latest men’s collection in a fashion show last June. The Row has also launched pop-up stores in Paris, but has yet to decide on a permanent address.
Currently, the brand has only four stores in the world. Three of them are in the United States, in New York, Amagansett (in the Hamptons) and Los Angeles. The last location is in Europe, in London. There is also an online store and dozens of carefully selected retailers.
The two designers, who are keen to maintain a minimalist style with subtle details for their brand, are keen to keep up with the current trend towards quiet luxury. According to an article in the Financial Times published at the end of 2023, their fashion business will generate annual sales of $250 million to $300 million, with growth of 20% to 30% annually.
