Shaftesbury Capital, a major London property owner, has announced a number of flagship stores with names as diverse as Astrid & Miyu, Jimmy Fairly and Barbour, all of which are opening new stores within its Soho estate.
Foubert’s Place now houses stores for contemporary jeweller Astrid & Miyu and eyewear brand Jimmy Fairly, while Carnaby Street has welcomed a Barbour store.
Astrid & Miyu announced plans to open a flagship store in London in early spring, and it has now opened at 5-7 Foubert’s Place. This marks a major expansion for the brand in the area.
Operating under the name House of Astrid & Miyu (HOAM), the stores “promise to offer the most immersive shopping experience in the world of jewellery, offering a wider range of consciously designed jewellery, and featuring new collections. Astrid & Miyu places a strong emphasis on experience, and the move has created more space for in-store services including piercing, tattooing, engraving and soldering.”
Meanwhile, the opening of Jamie Fairley’s new space at No. 10 comes as part of the brand’s drive to “create a better environment overall, and ensure that buying prescription glasses is a more enjoyable experience”.
Foubert’s Place is part of the thriving area close to Regent Street and close to Carnaby Street. The two brands are located alongside Mango Teen and Sculpted by Aimee, which have both made their UK debuts in Soho over the past 12 months.
The new Barbour store marks a major shift for the iconic brand that has been in Soho for almost 15 years. The store is now located at 29 Carnaby Street and is fully refurbished and stocks a wide range of clothing and accessories.
This adds to recent openings on Carnaby Street which include Pangaia, which has opened its first ever physical store there.
