Kylie Jenner’s KHY brand has had a number of firsts this year, and this week it launched its first collaboration. Earlier this year, it struck its first retail partnership after five months of selling directly to consumers online, announcing a two-week tie-up with Selfridges in the UK.
Her latest engagement is her first print collaboration, with the brand offering a collection of “womenswear” designed by Jenner and fashion designer Johannes Pohl-Kronau, founder and creative director of Berlin-based brand ioannes.
Described as “a masterful blend of contrasting elements – romantic and rebellious, classic and bold,” we’re told that “Johannes brings a unique energy to this collection.”
Having worn Johannes’ pieces for years, Jenner said she’s always admired “the subtle boldness of the designs and his extraordinary ability to blend contrasting emotions with a sense of creative ease. This collaboration came about after Kylie reached out to Johannes, inspired by how easily his clothes embodied her creative intuition.”
So what do we get from this collection? It’s a fusion of “luxury and everyday” through 10 pieces – dresses, blouses, skirts, and pants – in black and vibrant pink.
“The standout element is the floral print, created using sun-sensitive paper and real peonies, which emerged through close creative dialogue between Kylie and Johannes.”
Each piece is made from soft, smooth stretch fabric for a “soft, comfortable feel that’s easy to wear and conforms to your body’s shape.”
The new collection will be available in sizes XXS-4X, priced between $64 and $98, and will hit stores on Thursday.
