Chanel has announced the appointment of Simona Cattaneo as president of its fragrances and cosmetics division. Cattaneo, who was previously CEO of Italian luxury shoemaker Tod’s, will join the fashion house on October 21 to begin its integration alongside Ann Kirby, who is set to retire at the end of the year. She will take up her new role on January 1, 2025.
Simona Cattaneo began her career at L’Oréal in 1994. At the global beauty giant, she spent over thirteen years developing her expertise in brand and product management as International General Manager.
From 2008 to 2012, Simona Cattaneo was responsible for the strategic development of the makeup sector at Parfums Christian Dior.
In 2012, she was appointed senior vice president of beauty at Burberry, before joining Coty in 2016. She joined the American cosmetics group as chief marketing officer, later becoming president of luxury brands. Under her leadership, Coty expanded its portfolio, including the integration of Kylie Jenner’s beauty business, Kylie Cosmetics, and the completion of the acquisition of a stake in Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty.
