Leading cosmetics brand L’Oréal Paris has named British trans model, actress and activist Cara Delevingne as its newest ambassador.
The role is global and the company said she is “the queen of reinvention and an inspiring figure of resilience. Strong, bold, daring and authentic, Delevingne leads by example, empowering women to take charge of their destiny and overcome life’s challenges.”
She began modelling at a young age, and was in high demand for editorial, advertising campaigns and fashion shows, and moved into film acting in 2012. This year, she made her stage debut as Sally Bowles in the multi-award-winning West End revival of the play. cabaret.
Her appeal to the brand, besides her stunning looks, is that she “always pushes the boundaries to unlock her own potential, sending a message to all women that change is powerful and that there is no ceiling to ambition.”
“She defined the look of a generation with her signature boyish brows,” the company added. “Today, she continues to challenge convention, with her sharp, beautiful looks and bold personality shining through in everything she does, leaving an indelible impression.”
Her social media following, which exceeds 66 million, is certainly also a major factor in her appeal.
“She embodies our mission to empower women everywhere, no matter the obstacles in their way,” said Delphine Viguier-Hovas, Global Brand President of L’Oréal Paris. “By owning her strengths and desires but also her vulnerabilities and challenges, she inspires us all to pursue our ambitions and believe that anything is possible. She truly deserves it!”
