In May, Croatia welcomed 1.66 million international visitors, a 20.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the latest data from the National Statistical Office.
The total number of international tourist overnight stays increased by 25.6% to 6.3 million.
The number of domestic tourists also rose, with arrivals up 12.9% to 283,185, and overnight stays up 8.9% to 618,917 during the month.
Previous reports issued by the same office indicated a 10% annual increase in international tourist visits in 2023, reaching 16.855 million.
Tourism plays a crucial role in the country’s economy, accounting for 20% of Croatia’s GDP.
