Breeze Airways has announced the introduction of a new flight route starting next year that will link New Orleans and Las Vegas directly. The service, set to launch with six weekly departures, promises a nonstop connection between these vibrant cities.
Additionally, Breeze plans to reintroduce its direct flights from New Orleans to Los Angeles in 2025, setting up a competitive landscape with Southwest Airlines and, for the Southern California route, Delta Air Lines.
Ishrion Aviation, an independent aviation blog, first reported the news on Friday. Breeze’s official website details that starting February 5, 2025, flights will operate from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). This service will be available six days a week—Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday—aboard the Airbus A220-300.
Flight MX304 is scheduled to depart each evening shortly before 20:30, arriving around 22:00 at LAS. After a brief turnaround of nearly two hours, the aircraft will return as flight MX305, taking off just before midnight and landing back in New Orleans early the following morning at 06:00.
Flight Number | Origin | Departure Time | Destination | Arrival Time | Duration | Equipment |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
MX304 | Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) | 20:20 | Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) | 22:15 | 3 hours, 55 minutes | Airbus A220-300 |
MX305 | Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) | 23:59 | Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) | 06:00 (+1) | 4 hours, 1 minute | Airbus A220-300 |
This new route will be Breeze’s first direct service between MSY and LAS, enhancing travel options for passengers. Breeze currently flies to several destinations from MSY, including cities in South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, some on a seasonal basis.
Breeze also maintains a robust operation at LAS, serving destinations such as Akron/Canton, Gulfport/Biloxi, Hartford, Huntsville, Norfolk, Richmond, and Syracuse, along with Fort Myers and Jacksonville.
Each A220-300 plane accommodates 137 passengers, totaling 274 seats daily for this route. With its six-times-a-week schedule, Breeze will provide 1,644 seats weekly.
Flight Number | Origin | Departure Time | Destination | Arrival Time | Duration | Equipment |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
MX302 | Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) | 20:15 | Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) | 22:35 | 4 hours, 20 minutes | Airbus A220-300 |

Despite Breeze’s competitive move, Southwest Airlines retains a larger number of flights and seats on this route, according to Cirium, an aviation data analytics firm. For the month of February, Southwest is set to operate 112 flights using various models of the Boeing 737.
Two weeks after the launch of the MSY-LAS route, on February 19th, Breeze will restart its MSY to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) service, which initially ran from May to September 2023. Like the Las Vegas route, the LAX service will operate every day except Tuesday, featuring a late-night departure from MSY.
This resumption pits Breeze against both Delta, which is the largest operator on the MSY-LAX route with 164 flights in February using Airbus and Boeing planes, and Southwest, which plans 56 flights for the same period.
