Fashion designer Christian Louboutin has invested in Experimental Group, becoming the latest minority shareholder in the French hospitality group.
The move comes as more luxury brands partner with the hospitality sector including restaurants and beach clubs.
In collaboration with Jean Moix and Brookfield Asset Management, Louboutin is set to support the continued expansion of the group’s portfolio of hotels, restaurants and bars in Europe.
Experimental Group was founded in 2007 by Olivier Bon, Pierre-Charles Cros, and Romy de Gurianov, and joined by Xavier Padovani in 2010. In 2021, the group received a £300m investment from Brookfield Asset Management.
“Christian Louboutin’s pioneering spirit is in line with the values of the Experimental Group,” said Bon. “His international reputation, his multidisciplinary artistic collaborations, his creativity and his intuition will be invaluable assets in supporting our development.”
Looking to the future, Experimental Group has announced new openings scheduled for 2025 in Val d’Isère, Rome and Paris. These additions will complement the group’s growing portfolio, which already includes more than 20 locations, including hotels in London, Ibiza, Biarritz, Menorca, Venice and the Cotswolds.
