Montirex is a Liverpool-based company, so it’s fitting that the outdoor and sportswear brand has opened its first pop-up store in Liverpool One, the region’s premier retail and leisure destination.
Operator Grosvenor said the signing follows the brand’s “hugely successful permanent franchises” within the destination’s JD Sports and Footasylum spaces, “and highlights Liverpool One’s position as the preferred location for fast-growing leading retailers”.
The brand, which “bridges the gap between sportswear and streetwear and empowers athletes and adventurers around the world,” will join the South John Street lineup with a 3,000-square-foot store showcasing its menswear and womenswear collections this fall.
The store will also feature exclusive apparel not found in any of its stores anywhere else, and will serve as a hub for the brand’s community, hosting regular events and visits from sponsored athletes.
“The store design concept, product range and marketing reflect our aim to create display spaces where the best retailers can create unique expressions of their brands,” added Rob Deacon, Grosvenor’s Director of Asset Management.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, Daniel Yuen, co-founder of Monterex, added: “Launching our first pop-up store in a place we love so much is a dream come true. Liverpool One is the heart of the city, so being in such a prominent location is perfect for us. We look forward to welcoming our community to our new home, filled with exclusive products and events.”
Grosvenor also noted that continued investment by leading brands had had a “tangible impact” on the centre’s performance, with stores refurbished in 2022 and 2023 seeing an average 8.2% increase in weekly sales compared to the 12 months prior to the refurbishment.
She added that these same stores are witnessing an average increase in sales of 16% so far in 2024, “reinforcing the value of sustainable investment in the destination.”
