Estée Lauder said Thursday that Tracy Travis will step down from her 12-year role as chief financial officer of MAC lipstick, effective June 30, 2025.
The company said a successor to Travis has been identified and will be named in the coming weeks. It added that Travis will work closely with this individual to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
Travis, who has been CFO of Estée Lauder since August 2012, joins the company from Ralph Lauren, where she served as CFO for more than seven years.
Under her leadership, Estée Lauder has significantly strengthened financially, made extensive investments in innovation and digital transformation, and made several acquisitions of companies including Tom Ford, Deciem, and others.
“Tracy has been instrumental in Estée Lauder’s growth from a $24 billion market cap in 2012 to more than $135 billion at its peak,” Jefferies analyst Ashley Helghan said in a note earlier Thursday.
“Having a fresh set of eyes on the business could be beneficial in light of recent volatility and will allow the company to reset its growth algorithm,” Heljans added.
The company had cut its annual organic sales estimate in May due to continued weakness in the luxury cosmetics segment in mainland China, even as demand for its high-end products rebounded in the U.S. and Asia-Pacific markets, prompting a raise in earnings forecasts.
Shares of Estée Lauder, which have fallen more than 30% this year, were up slightly in after-hours trading.
