Amiri announced Friday the opening of its store in South Coast Plaza, the California-based brand’s second location, alongside its flagship store on Rodeo Drive.
Designed by creative director Mike Amiri, in partnership with American architectural firm Two One Two Design, the new store in South Coast Plaza spans 3,000 square feet and is described by the luxury brand as an “evolution” of its first store introduced on Rodeo Drive, “uniting different creative disciplines into one environment,” according to a press release.
Embracing a cool Californian feel, the store features a blue marble façade, with natural tones and white oak furniture and furnishings contrasting with touches of colored agate that accentuate the interior design. Inside, blue patterned rugs made of velvet and mohair and hand-woven alongside white plaster walls finished in limestone create a creative backdrop for the brand’s collections and artistic collaborations.
The South Coast Plaza store features men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, along with kidswear, shoes and accessories, and will also stock exclusive limited-edition bright colors of the iconic Skel Top Low and Micro Bag MA bags.
Finally, as with other Ameeri stores, the new store acts as an “open gallery” showcasing art and crafts, offering a mix of fashion and culture.
Hand-picked objects by Mike Ameri sit alongside site-specific artworks: a custom piece from Detroit-based artist Jason Revok’s ongoing Instrument Frame Drag series, presented in dialogue with a custom hand-crafted wood wall piece by contemporary artist Oksana Shon.
Amiri was launched by Mike Amiri in 2014, and today the company has several locations in the United States, as well as stores in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Dubai.
