Boeing and Aviation Capital Group (ACG) announced that ACG has finalized an order for 35 737 MAX airplanes, including 16 737-8s and 19 of the larger 737-10s. The new order, which follows an additional 737 MAX order last year, brings ACG’s total commitment to 82 airplanes. The expansion is aimed at meeting growing customer demand for fuel-efficient airplanes.
“This solid order for additional 737 MAX aircraft enhances the strategic value of ACG’s order book, supports a key pillar of our growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to investing in modern, fuel-efficient aircraft technology.” Thomas Baker said, ACG CEO and President: “We look forward to supporting our airline customers around the world with these versatile, fuel-efficient aircraft.”
The 737-8 can seat up to 210 passengers, depending on configuration, and has a range of 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 kilometers). The 737-10, the largest model in the 737 MAX family, offers the best per-seat economics among single-aisle airplanes, seating up to 230 passengers and flying 3,100 nautical miles (5,740 kilometers). Both models deliver 20 percent lower fuel use and carbon emissions than the airplanes they replace.
“Today’s repeat order demonstrates the market demand for the 737 MAX family of airplanes as ACG customers seek to operate flexible, fuel-efficient fleets.” Brad McMullen said, “ACG has been a long-standing valued partner on the 737 MAX program, and we look forward to working together to deliver the latest airplane technology to our airline customers,” said Boeing Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, John F.
Each 737 MAX saves up to eight million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually and has a 50 percent lower noise footprint than the aircraft it replaces.
