Hard Rock’s release of John Lennon Memorabilia Treasure Hunt, in partnership with the John Lennon Estate and UMe, the global catalog division of Universal Music Group, marks the release of “John Lennon’s Mind Games – The Ultimate Collection,” providing fans around the world with an exciting opportunity to participate.
Hard Rock boasts the world’s largest and most valuable collection of original music memorabilia, with over 88,000 items on display at its locations around the world. Highlights to discover on a treasure hunt for John Lennon memorabilia include clothing, musical instruments, drawings, lyrics and more at various Hard Rock locations.
“Preserving music history is what enriches the experience of traveling, dining and playing at Hard Rock. We are proud to showcase priceless pieces of John Lennon’s musical and inspirational legacy.” Giovanni Taliaferro said, Vice President of Memorabilia and Design, Hard Rock International. “We are deeply grateful to the John Lennon Estate and Universal Music Group for inviting us to participate in this incredible adventure. We hope that by learning from the Hard Rock memorabilia collection, John’s biggest fans will be able to imagine how his creativity and ideals continue to this day.”
The treasure hunt launch coincides with the launch of John and Yoko’s new social site, citizenofnutopia.com. The platform, which features a world map, invites fans to sign up, leave peaceful messages, enjoy “meditation affirmations,” and express their gratitude and admiration for John and Yoko’s core principles of peace, love, and truth. Nutopia, a fictional country created by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1973, promotes the principles of peace and love made famous by John’s songs “Imagine” and “Mind Games.”
The John Lennon Memorabilia Hunt celebrates the release of Mind Games – The Ultimate Collection. This collection immerses listeners in the studio, exploring the 1973 recording sessions at the Record Plant in New York City. It includes dozens of unreleased tracks, unreleased versions, soundtracks, slick mixes, studio chatter, and more, showcasing the evolution and creation of fan-favorite songs.
Sean Ono Lennon says: “We’ve been working on Mind Games sets for years now. At first, I thought, ‘Mind Games’… a game… What if we ‘turned’ Mind Games into a game? That’s all I’ll say for now, but there are many levels to this release, including box sets and much more – which will slowly unfold – and I hope it will be entertaining and engaging for everyone for many years to come. I hope you enjoy these mind games with Hard Rock and as my mother says in the book’s introduction, let’s see how we can create a positive future with her – play a positive mind game with each other.”
