Accor India and InterGlobe Hotels, in partnership with Hope Foundation and InterGlobe Foundation, celebrated the graduation of students from the Class of 2023 and 2024 at a special ceremony held at the Pullman New Delhi Airline Hotel. The event witnessed the successful completion of studies in the nursing assistant, retail and hospitality sectors by over 130 participants, each of whom received certificates from NSDC. The initiative is part of a broader CSR effort aimed at equipping young individuals from less privileged communities with employable skills.
Accor India and Hope Foundation’s collaboration began in 2012 with the establishment of the Accor Centre for Hope, a commitment to helping those facing social and economic challenges. This alliance was strengthened with the support of Interglobe Hotels and Interglobe Foundation, expanding the effectiveness and reach of the programme. Together, the organisations offer a comprehensive training programme comprising three months of academic learning and three months of practical experience. The programme culminates in a certification from the National Council for Sustainable Development, providing participants with a pathway to sustainable employment.
The impact of these training initiatives is significant, transforming the lives of over 220 young people from challenging backgrounds, with over 150 of them finding jobs. This success demonstrates the effectiveness of the programme in breaking down social and economic barriers and promoting personal and professional growth.
Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, Asia, Middle East and Africa, Accor, said: “We are extremely proud of these young people who have demonstrated tremendous dedication and perseverance. This program is a testament to our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
Mr. J.P. Singh, President and CEO, InterGlobe Hotels, added,“We are proud to see our skills development initiative empowering young people and transforming their lives. By providing access to high-quality, job-oriented training programmes, we are empowering students with the tools they need to enter the workforce with confidence and contribute meaningfully to the economic and social fabric of our country. We remain committed to giving back to our community through our CSR initiatives and will continue to develop and enhance the programme to meet the changing demands of the labour market and foster a new generation of skilled professionals.”
